Bow length?

What's the proper way to measure a recurved or any bow? Following the curve? Back or belly? TTT or NTN?

There is only string follow and set police. No bow measurement police afaik.

I go with ntn starting at the back then down the belly as the string runs. Thats  the length of the working area.  ttt ads in the part that doesn't contribute.

Yes, following the curve. Otherwise you don't get an accurate measurement. I make my own strings so the AMO measurement doesn't apply.

I measure mine before I recurve the tips. A seamstress tape works well for measuring a recurved bow

Personally I think what would make a lot more sense when posting a bow is to say,  "hey this bow takes a 58" string ... .as opposed to saying "this recurve is 61""

Yes, at least for handmade bows. I mark my bows with string length, like S64#45@28 for myself.
