My Dad's car when I was growing up was a 1958 Chevy Biscayne. That thing was a tank and had a steering wheel that was about 3' in diameter.

I owned a 1956 Cadillac Sedan DeVille for a few years. You wanna talk about a tank!  It had power windows, power seats, cruise control, auto dimming headlights, it was pink, and awesome!

Now I own a 1937 Chevy pickup

Ha! Perfect timing, last night I chased a guy all the way through town until I blocked him in a parking spot at a strip mall so I could talk to him about his car!

He was driving a 1951 Hudson Hornet Sedan, four door, all original including the interior.  The guy driving it was in his early 40's and says he is not sure when his grandfather originally bought it, but when his father was overseas in the military, his grandfather drove his mother to the hospital in it to have him delivered! He says he drove it to school once in a while as a kid (when grandpa would give him permission) and when time came for his Senior Prom they had four couples piled into that car!  It was obvious that this car represented a whole heck of a lot more than just a funky retro quirky ride....this vehicle was family, legacy, heritage.

Hudson Hornet's were a car to be reckoned with back in the 50s.  They were no joke

Hudson Hornets won a lot of the early NASCAR races. I saw two real nice ones at the yearly Car Show in town last Saturday along with several Packards

My Dad always seemed to own Kaisers

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

The only option my Dad got with the '58 Chevy was automatic transmission.  No power steering or brakes, no ac, no heat, no power windows or locks, hardly any power in the 6 cylinder motor but it survived very well through 4 learning drivers in 4 years. You couldn't break it if you had to.
