Cool and Breezy
« on: October 12, 2016, 03:52:03 pm »
That's the kind of weather we've had, lately and it got me motivated to finish up this bow. It's Osage I picked up at the Classic two years ago from Mr. McGuire and is 56" tip to tip. I wasn't sure how this bow was going to turn out because I bent some long tips in it when I started, just to see how it would shoot with them and I can say for as light as it is in weight it still spits an arrow with a pretty good thump. I had planned to sinew back this one but decided to just go with a self bow instead.

It is 38# @ 27"Beaver tail grip that was a real pain in the butt putting on. Also has cow horn tips and Western Diamond back skins

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

At that weight, it shouldn't wear a man down if he had to shoot all day long! Looks like that one is good to go!

Thanks everybody, means a lot. JW, I thought I needed me something light to play with. And the way it hits my target I don't dout it will take a deer down.

I don't doubt it either.  A bow like that will allow a person to throw arrow after arrow until REAL competent shooting emerges.  Deer are not armor plated.  Accuracy counts more than draw weight. You and I and a lot of folks on here have been preaching that message mighty long!

Looks great Eddie. You got those tips way out ahead of the handle there, I'm never brave enough to do that even though I imagine it ups the performance. Probably contributes to the reason your bow is a snappy shooter for its lower draw weight.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.
