"Juno" - Sinew Backed Juniper 48# @ 26" (Pic Heavy) BROKE!!! PG 3
« on: September 11, 2016, 04:10:32 pm »
This is one of two sinew backed juniper bows that I recently finished up. My first time working with juniper and I've got to say that I'm impressed with how it finishes and how snappy of a bow it makes. Definitely plan to make more in the future.

Also very surprised/pleased with how bright the cotton mouth skins came out. Hope everyone enjoys. :)

Stats:

58" Tip to Tip
48# @ 26"
Sinew backed
Cotton Mouth Skin
Ebony Wood Tip Overlay
Asymmetrical Limb Design
Strunk Style Handle Wrap w/ Kangaroo Lace
Beaver Fur Silencers
FastFlight String

Nice tiller:) should give yah years of service👌🏼
I use calf lace these days as its 95% cheaper and a little bit better quality.
I like the pattern of the cotton mouth. Juniper is such a sweet wood to work as well.

Thanks, Bryce. Mind if I ask your source for the calf lace? I tried some before but it didn't seem very durable. Perhaps it was just a cheap brand that I had bought?

Nothing wrong with that bow. The tiller is dead on and the skins look great. Where did the skins come from? I've never seen them that light colored.

Man another really killer stick posted today. That is a beautiful bend on a equally beautiful stick Cloudfeather. Those water moccasins really go great with it too.

Mullet. Appreciate the compliments. They came from acquaintances in South Carolina. Making use of what was otherwise roadkill. When I skinned them, the skins were extremely dark and I wasn't expecting a whole lot from them. Once the scales came off though, man did they pop. :)

yeah i just get it off amazon. The one thing I didn't like about the kangaroo lace was that it was spliced, and the calf lace is one continuous piece.

Hmm. I believe that's what I had bought from a hobby store. I'll have to look into it and see what's what when I go to resupply. Thanks, Bryce.

Niice. Does it take any set? I'm hoping 26" would be way understressed for such a sinew juniper bow.. I like the profile

Killer bow Cloudfeather. The overall look, profile and finish work is very appealing but even better is the way it gets your attention when bent at full draw, sweet work.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Really good looking, but I wonder why that juniper is yellowish in color?
