Narrow Osage stave. (Pics added)

What's the smallest width you can go with Osage?  I've got a really nice Osage stave that's 1" wide x 69" long. Has good character in it. Will have to take some twist out but I'd like to get something out of it. Even if it's just a 35-40# target bow.

You can make a 45# bow with a 1" wide osage stave.

Easy 45 lb. I have a 66in. Bendy that's pulling 58 lb. And it's only 1 1/4  only made one osage bow but amazes me how little wood it takes to make a bow  some of the native bows where 3/4 of a in.  I  don't think you will have a problem getting a hunting weight bow with decent osage. Good luck post her up when you get it flying.

The problem with narrow is the tendency of sideways bending especially as the length increases.  If you have a sub 28" draw then you could shorten it and that would help

I have a 62 inch 45 pound bow pulling 45@26. Its 1.25 wide.it was so thin and narrow I had to build up the handle as tjere was no wood there to make one.

It doesnt take a lot of Osage, I have a 54" 47#@25" bendy handled character bow that's 1 1/4" wide. You shouldnt have a problem getting a hunting weight bow out of it.

My favorite D bow is 60" long 55 pounds and 1 inch wide. No problem.

Here's the stave. 1" wide at the center through most of it length 1 1/4" at its widest which is at the big end. I have a sister stave to this that's normal sized. It had a split down the middle and it split perfectly down the whole stick. It's begging to be D bow, so I was thinking a 69" elb with horn tips. This will be my first elb. Going to get started today.  I'll need to do some heat correction of course.

I had a stave that looks similar to yours. I made a bow close to 50# @25" bendy it's a nice shooter. It had a lot of twists and bends in it. It took a lot of heat sessions to get it somewhat straight. I can post some pics of it if you don't mind me posting them on your thread.
