Incredible such a simple yet amazingly fancy bow. I love it, how does this fuming method work? Is there a build along for it? That bow bends so nice.

Keeping it simple is sometimes hard, but this bow really stands out because of its lack of fringes.
What a killer bow. I prefer 'm a bit less glossy though.

Very cool looking stick Simon, you are turning out beauties as usual. I love the character, profile and exceptionally smooth tiller of this one. The colors your getting from the fuming are amazing as well, good stuff coming out of your shop. :)
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

It looks darker at the tips. Did you use progressive(for lack of a better word) fuming?

No progressive fuming, I know what you meant.
The color is very homogen - a deep black.
What you see on the stick are reflections from environment. It's hard to describe what color the wood has, but it gets depth.

There is howto here on PA -don't remember the where I did it. But you can visit my site, on the HOWTO section is info

Yeah, I'm also no fan of glossy finish. But on the fumed blackies it does look great ... I cannot resist.

Thank you all for your kind compliments, glad you like the stick!

Just beautiful!  Love the way the finish looks.

Simon, what concentration of ammonia are you using? I think the stuff I have experimented with was only 5%

Aaron, I use solutions of 20% and 10%. I think only 5% is a bit low. Go to a restorer shop they have the stuff you want.
You can increase and speed up with temperature, place your setup in the sun or heat up anyhow. Just be careful the stuff is dangerous on skin and eyes and lungs.
