Pretty sure I can salvage my double backing strip and continue with the same bow plan.   I really want to make this specific bow. Stay tuned.

Pat, as much as I've messed with Ipe, that crap is common. The first thought that crossed my mind when you posted was wrap the questionable spot with thread wrap and glue. I have a recurve JamesP gave me four years ago that did the same thing and I've done nothing to it and the small crack has never gotten larger. Good luck, I think you can save it.

   I think it would hold up but it wouldn't feel right sending off a patched up bow for a trade like this.

  Those small cracks work fine in flight bows.
