Very nice looking primitive bow Carson, someone is gonna love that.

As soon as I get out of work today, I'm stopping by the post office to send mine out. Nothing like shipping on the last week!

I got my bow from Simon braced this weekend. Had difficulty doing so but that was me. Left her braced for an hour or so with occasional 1/2 drawing. Will try to get a few arrows through her today and take some pics to share with you guys. I can tell just by 1/2 drawing that she is a shooter and if I do my part a meat maker too.

Now that's a hunting bow!  Good call on the green.  According to USPS, as of 15 minutes ago my tradebow is at the front door of my victim....errr....recipient I mean.  Josh

I was just putting the finishing touches on my packing job for my trade bow heading out when the postman came with a tube. I dashed across the yard and yanked it out of his hands and ran back inside to pop it open. I made my self not look at the return address so it would be a surprise. Oh man, did I score! I got Greg Arnold's (Badly Bent) scalloped elm bow! Here are a couple pics. I'll do a full post in the bow section so you check it out in all it's glory.

Bushy, that's a pretty stain job and I'm sure a hunting bow.

That's who the elk was for. Congratulations, Weylin and sweet bow, Greg.

You're welcome Bub!  I'm glad she made it in tact.
Congrats Weylin!  Few things are as pretty as elm grain especially when worked by as skilled a bowyer as Greg!  Josh

The trade bow is in the mail! though I think they're going to have to recommission the Spruce Goose to ship this tube. (The Spruce Goose is actually in my town. It's HUGE)

Weylin you lucky dog! I was secretly hoping for that beauty. Elk on it had my hopes up. Can't wait see it.
Nice score bushboy, and beautiful work too. That has hunter written all over it.

Damn you Weylin!

Ok I I am over it, as I just realized how many amazing bows all of which I would be happy to own are headed out this week.

Couple more coats of linseed oil and I will be ready to ship. Got some cool pictures tonight while shooting it in some more. Light was real nice.

x

Still a lot of work to get done in the next few days.  Some heat adjustments and fitting the take down sleeves slowed me down some

Final tillering tomorrow

Then finishing .   WAiting for these Python skins to dry is killing me today .  Darn humid weather and the fact that this reticulating Python is pretty thick skinned  isn't  helping.  Cigar helps a bit though ;)
The Python came from our fish hatchery on Chiang mai Thailand.  He was eating one of our workers chickens .  Tips are a rosewood from Laos.  I have to add a lil' Asian flare you know.  Osage was from some nice naturally recurved Michigan billets a guy gave me that were seasoning 20 yrs in his garage.  Take down sleeves made of stainless and brass a machine shop in Chiang mai makes for me for $15 a set
