My first Knife
« on: January 10, 2016, 12:33:44 am »
Today I made my first knife ever.  It's not exactly like I wanted it to turn out but I'm just glad it didn't break in half.  I almost could have posted this in the abo section but I used a dremel on the antler.  The blade is rainbow obsidian and the handle is of course deer antler.  Last year I took my dad to a knap-in and he saw all the knives and asked why I never made those.  I told him cause I always break them in half.  So this one is a gift for my dad for his birthday.  I've got a hunt coming up soon so I need to make another knife for that... just in case I get a raccoon. lol

Florida to Kwajalein to Turkey and back in Florida again.  Good to be home but man was that an adventure!

That is the high speed of low speed. Borrow it for the hunt if you don't get another one soon enough. It should be great for gutting and skinning the raccoon. Let us know how it performs when either of you get to use it.

Great work Tim!  I love that rainbow stuff. I'm so happy to see you made it back to Florida. How's that Texas chert coming.? Made anything.
