Ok, I couldn't wait. . .The box wasn't fitting under the tree, so it had to go.  I think I really scored today.  In it I found what looks to be a floor -tillered red oak stave (not a board), and two osage staves.  'The one with bark on it still has a big reflex right at the handle section that should make a really interesting profile, if I can figure out the best design for it.  The other stave also has a couple of nice character features that I am really going to enjoy.  There were also four laminated tip overlays to add to these bows.

The only problem is I don't know who to thank.  the return address says Quetot from New Waterford, Ohio, but I don't know who that is on here.  I did my graduate school in Cincinnati, Ohio, so it will be nice build a bow from that state.

the floor tillered stave is a white oak . I hope you get some nice bows out of them . The white oak stave I received from Blackhawks stash like a year or two ago. That is natural reflex in the white oak .
I can't wait to see some shooters someday.

Bob, thank you.  I will be sure to post pictures of them.  The one stave has the date 4-15 on the side. I assume that means it was cut this april?  Do you know when the other was cut?  Are they both from your corner of the state?  We sure liked Ohio, and I was back there in October and really enjoyed it.

Yes I believe both were cut at same time. And yes from like 10 min away is were I found the osage. It was alot of splitting . I would of gave you some really seasoned stuff but I couldn't find anything good enough to send you. .

4-15 is close enough Jeffro. Rough it down and sit it on the heat register for 2-3 weeks. It will be ready to rock man.

I received my gift today and I could not be more pleased. Actually kind of blown away. To think that someone would actually give such a piece of work away is pretty amazing. Came from longbowhntr, has some snake in the one limb and a couple of well raised knots just off the handle. Very nice and I maybe shooting tomorrow. Thank you, thank you.

I received these 3 cool Tonkin cane arrows with bone spined reinforced self nocks, rattlesnake skin cresting, obsidian points(made by his friend) with sinew wraps. I'll make a special display board for them to add to my collection. These arrows were made by Scott Galczynski(don't know Scott's handle).
