Kid...Get to the Classic this year and you can shoot it for yourself....

I use a two part epoxy call "Flex Coat" to set the feathers in. I see no reason why you couldn't set butterfly wings the same way. The bodies my be a little difficult. But I have noted before as well as others, don't set or glue anything down with a softer product than the finish over it, because it will crack. Happen to me on a Molly and will never do that again. I use FlexCoat to set/glue the feathers on the back and then put one final finish coat on of the same. Just make sure your in a dust free environment when doing the final coat.
It took about 175 feathers to do the bow...that's a lot of butterflies.
