Little Drop Point File Knife

Good day, all.  Here's a little knife I just finished that's made from an old American-made Nicholson file an old farmer in the area gave me.  I forged the blade pretty close to shape, but there wasn't much thickness to work with.  It's 7 3/8 in OAL with a 3 1/2" blade sanded out to 400.  The spine/jimping/tang has been sanded to 600.  It has rosewood scales with a gentle palm swell.   The fully-welted sheath has a removable belt loop for horizontal carry.  The whole shootin' match is far from perfect, but I learn a bunch with each new knife.  Thanks for looking!

The necker you sent me years ago took the leg out of a pair of new jeans without drawing blood or marking the skin in a very careless moment.  And that is before I spent some time honing it to MY specs! 

Buddy, that is one beautiful and visually well balanced piece of work.  Good all around, apple parer-deer opener-steak knife-or what have you kinda blade.  As usual, excellent work!

Thanks again, all!  JW, you literally did need new britches!  Was that the little necker that went AWOL?  I remember that one well.  I used to send those neckers out intentionally shy of "YIKES" sharp.  However, I've since begun grinding and sharpening my knives a little bit differently.  My grandpa also used to say, "If you're not scared of it, it's not sharp enough."  As of late, they're about as sharp as my nerves will allow.

Yes, that was the little necker that went AWOL.  It has however returned and was sentenced to hang by the necker of the euro mount of my first antelope.
