From the research I did before making, longer is the way to go...drove to go the flatbow route and extra long (think ELB length even for flatbow) versus the pyramid style build.

Mass weight would be my concern.  a 72" x 2" PH bow would weigh 3#.

Well, plus backing and a handle we might make it 4.  >:D Then I can use it as a club as well.
