Yew Recurve for Cipriano
« on: September 08, 2015, 02:08:56 am »
A while back Cipriano and I worked out a trade. He sent me some really nice snake skins in exchange for a bow.
He said he was in no rush, but its taken me a little longer than I'd like to come through on my end.
I hope this bow makes up for the wait!
Another super deflexed yew stave, was very narrow and had some twist. I believe Blackhawk got the sister stave.
Beautiful colour and contrast, and nice tight rings.
After I boiled in the curves, one tip was pointed north and the other south. They each needed two heat gun sessions to get them in line.
I didn't have alot of width to work with, so its quite narrow, about an inch for the inner third, then tapering to the tips from there.
62" long, 48# @ 28". Sinew wrapped tips and cane handle wrap. I filled in a punky knot with horn dust and super glue.
I backed it with red rat snake skins from Cip.
Cheers guys thanks for looking.

Nice, looks like it will pack a punch :).
The stripey look of the grip is cool.

That's beautiful.  Your yew recurves have a very classy look to them.
