Just shy of firewood...for now
« on: August 18, 2015, 10:05:34 am »
This is a top split off of a snakey stave I found buried in my pile. It was from the first osage I cut and I did not know what I had. I should be able to get 3 more snakey bows from it. As I tillered, checks  kept running off the limb and it just got lighter and lighter as I went. I tossed it aside as no good 3 different times, but my wife kept saying how much she liked it. The last runoff required a bandaid and I don't know how it will hold, but figured it is worth a shot. 59" long, 30# at 27.

That looks outstanding in all aspects, tiller/finish/tip overlays/ Just beautiful, like we say don't take much Osage to make a bow, very nice save. :)

That is some fairly serious "snaking" going on.  Congrats on sticking with it and making a fine looking bow.  Great looking tiller too.

Ooooooooh! I like. Always wanted to try one of them snakey bows but afraid my talent wouldn't get it. That looks great.
