Elm hall elm

This stave was cut at elm hall last year. 3" at base and 2 1/2"  at the top. I pulled it out on Tuesday last week and got it floor tillered and did some heat correction.  I wanted something that was close to work on at the shoot. After getting it shooting i wanted to temper it. We built a charcoal fire and i strung it backwards with steel wire and tempered it on my grill. After doing that i finished the coals off by cooking some shish kabobs 8). Let it sit overnight and finished the next day. Cody aka misslemaster and i went out and pick some blackberries and mixed with crushed charcoal and white camp fuel for the finish. Not the prettiest thing but i love making and finishing at shoots so i can run the coarse with it. Always awesome to hear all the opinions from everyone.

Low to mid 50's at 26ish
1 3/4 at fads ,1/2 tips.

Nice bow Paul.  Looks like it held some good reflex.  You are a bow building machine at Marshall.  I bet you are the same way at Elm Hall.

Cool bow with some nice character and the campfire tempering really locked in that reflex. I got to pull on the string a few times and it was smooth drawing too. I left to early and didn't get to see it shoot but I'd
bet it delivers a arrow well. Always fun to see Paul turn out a finished bow or two, (sometimes 3), over the course of a weekend at one of these gatherings.

That bow is a hammer to boot. It spits a mean arrow. I like how you used Elm Hall elm and berries to stain in. Good work Pauly.

Its never the bow always the shooter... killed a few, wounded a few and missed a few. Typical day for me
