Anyone ever get a mark like this in their bow from using a clamp? It is NOT a dent it's just a mark deep in the wood. It's smooth.

A wet rag and an iron will get rid of it.

Or some steam at just that spot also works.

I have sort of noticed that marks like that are easier to get back out if the mark was made recently than if you wait a few months. I don't know if this is true, but that's my (limited) experience. Anyone think the same?

I have but try hard not to, I use a shim with the edges rounded or thick leather or the flat side of the clamp when doing some serious clamping/tweaking, the ideas above will usually get most if not all of it out.

It is still a dent but you've just sanded the high spots down to match the compressed wood. You should be able to steam it out. Looks like it's in the handle anyway.
