Faun and Nymph clay masks fired and painted
« on: June 22, 2015, 03:30:49 am »
I haven't been showing much lately and I guess those are kinda primitive so:

Clay masks of a faun and a nymph. I'm very lucky if they come out of the firing intact, so I better show them to you now.  ;)
If so, however, they'll be painted and I show you again.

Everything went smoothly. I fired them black in the mud kiln, ground some ochre ans gypsum Pigment in a mortar, stirred them in glue and painted the masks.
Don't shoot!

How satisfying it must be to produce such art with primitive materials and methods. Outstanding.

New to all of this primitive stuff. Just taking it all in, and learning every time I come here.
