Many people have heard that name.  I've been having an on/off conversation over the last couple years with an older fellow by the name of Edward Mantle, a Reverend in Southern Ontario.  Edward has been building bows for many years.  In the last few e-mails he talked about a guy he used to know that moved to Ontario from Michigan in the mid 1900.  When he moved up here he brought along with him some Ullrich Yew, which he gave to Edward at some point.  With the Yew was a pamphlet from Earl on Yew.  Edward kindly photo-copied the pamphlet and sent that to me.  If anyone is interested in reading it I'll scan what I have and upload it to my site, it's 4 pages long.  It is quite an interesting read

A buddy of mine,is making a bow out of a yew stave,that Earl harvested and cured.He says he doesnt work on it,unless he is in the right state of mind and a little here n there.He says it is the most perfect piece of yew hes ever seen and doesnt wanna screw it up in any way.
