Strunk Skeleton Lace
« on: May 12, 2015, 08:52:15 am »
I've got the tutorial and have done a few Strunk style handle wraps, but I've seen a couple bows where it's just the lace with no leather grip. Does anyone know the trick to this?

John had some objection to his method being used as a tutorial so it may be hard to find. I think Gordon had posted  it and removed it at John's request.

What PatM said. I think John's objection was to it being published. I got it from Gordon but had to agree not to share it nor publish it anywhere. Couldn't hurt to PM him and ask though.

It's a pretty intuitive pattern once you've done it a couple times. I'd like to try just the lace portion, without the leather grip. My neighbor wants me to make him a knight stick with a chunk of my leftover Osage. Figured that would look cool for the grip.

When i got the tutorial i had every intention of using it, but it seems like soo many are useing it now i don't want to pollute the bow building community with more, it's a great looking wrap but I'll do something else
