Hill cane harvest 2015
« on: April 22, 2015, 11:16:14 am »
I was late getting to this this year. Usually its January or February when I harvest but for many reasons I didn't get to it this year until late April, early May.  But, anyway I got 24 bundles of 15 culms sorted, cut to 36" and bundled. Some will make good hunting arrows and some smaller ones for lighter bows.  I already have lots of this promised but what is left I'll bring to the Classic. Here are a few pics of this years harvest. Next to the bundles is the waste from trimming and culling.....

Got yours set aside and labeled, Clint.
Swampman, I've probably got 6 to 8 hours in those 360 pieces of cane.

Hey Pat I'll trade you a few Tonkin Cane shafts I got from Eddie a few years ago for a few of that River cane.  I don't need it, just want something from you that you harvested.   ;D
