One for the "Ole Boys" ABO
« on: April 07, 2015, 08:54:59 am »
I thought  that I would try and broaden my skills with some abo style knapping , this point was made with just a hammer stone and a antler tine, I got my spall thined out with plenty of problems, it's not copper thin but not real bad. I knew that notching would be tuff on the not ideal base thinness and it was. One notch went fairly well and of course the other stalled and I could not get it going again with just a deer antler. If I found this point in a field I would be overwhelmed , but being a modern knapper this point leaves alot of room for improvement. Thanks for looking Bob

That's a style I've yet to master and probably won't. Turned out good Bob, looks sharp!

Cyberspace seems to swallow more and more replies.
Nice to see you finally become an honest knapper Bob >:D
I may try it some day too. :D

Looks good Bob, makes a fella respect the old ones and what they could do. Been putting some abo tools together myself...
