Bow holder for tiller tree
«

I have never really been satisfied with the attachments I use to hold my bow in the tiller tree. I always have to monkey with it a bit to get it ballanced just right. Not enough of a problem to have ever bothered to fix it but enough that I want to make a better one. My favorite is actually a leather strap I use sometimes on difficult shapes.
Any suggestions?

Sorry - I was trying to attach the photo, and it didn't work the way I thought. The thread with this pic was "R/D Osage w/copperheads".

I do use a leather strap on some of mine but because of stretch it can't be used for precise weighing. Maybe I will just go get a no stretch strap of some kind.

It's just the hook end of a ratchet tie strap like we used tying loads on trucks

I don't have a photo yet, but what I did with the last tiller job is tape on a small piece of wood (cull) so the riser would not Rock & Roll.
Ya ok I did it backwards because I wanted a semi shaped riser so I could grip the bow normally for drawing. My stick is about 2 1/4" wide. I only use it to a point then go for the bathroom mirror tiller.

I like that idea because it can pivot/flex. Yes it's just the end off a ratchet strap, I even have one lying around.

Mine is a curved block like a D lying back on its flat face. I've glued thin rubber on the curved face.
It allows some rock n roll and some support for odd shaped grips.

Del, sounds like what I am using now. Mike, I think I know where I can get an old ratchet strap. I just retired from the trucking industry.
