Georgetown points.
« on: March 06, 2015, 09:08:35 am »
Picked up my first Georgetown at the Silver River event.  This stuff will let even someone like me make it look like I know what I'm doing.  These are my first two flakes that were cortex pieces and they gave me two keepers.  Can't wait to see what I can get from the core.

Makes me wish I had some of that George Town!  Really like the bigger point for its cross section and the smaller one for looking like it belongs on a shaft!  Joe

Those are real nice...

I just got a bucket of Georgetown and Rootbeer....what fantastic rock it is. That stuff can spoil a person. Only rock I like as well is Keokuk, at least for my limited experience. May be better out there.

:) That's totally good rock raw.
I got some from Curtis last year and made some of my biggest and best from it.
Starts black and gets blue when thin.
Happy knappin.

Great points, Steve. Isn't it nice what you can do with good rock?

Great job! And what nice material! I want some Georgetown.  But that stuff will lighten up on you and those points will be more of a grey color soon.
