I'd go with leather.

I'm actually partial to a bare grip/ leather pass, especially if there's a knot involved.

Might as well make them short, save some wood to keep warm.

I like bare wood. Interrupting the nice smooth flow of the wood with a piece of something just jars my eye. Some handles are works of art though, so you have to weigh one against the other.

Plan A just died of a bad back. It cracked while trying to straighten a compound curve. (Note to self: take out one twist at a time not all of them at once.)

If the wood will bend, I'll make it beautiful!

I'm back from the classic so now it's time to get going on this trade bow. Going to try and get it floor tillered this weekend. Which means it's going to get some Bending done to it as well. Patrick

Plan B is having issues, good thing A is promising. I had extra rings over the tips for self-back nocks but I'm going with ebony now, hope that's okay

Not a lot to update . I've been traveling a lot for work. I have some nice staves and I'll bang one out. Just got back from Haiti and off to Thailand and Laos tomorrow.

I've been lolligaging on mine but I've got a couple weeks of free time coming up so I should be able to get to it. Mine is profiled, and shaved down some, but there are a few dead knots that aren't so dead on the belly that I'm dealing with.
