Thoughts about my new tip design! New pics pg 2

Thanks  guy's, I've never made them that small before. I had less to work with than I normally do. I traded sleek for this bow and his nocks are a good bit different from mine. I still have to do some finish work and maybe even something new that I never seen before on the back instead of a snake skin.

Hopefully I didn't screw this one up but to me I think it will work. At least I'm planning on stringing it and shooting it. I checked my string and it seems to lay in the nock nicely. Patrick

I don't think you will have any problem shooting. I'd be afraid of any side load from bracing or tripping in the woods but what do I know? I'm a little chicken-ship of that kind of stuff

Good point on the side load. That was a concern of mine because lebhuntfish uses the push pull method to string. I dont know if that stresses the tips differently than step through which does not touch the tips.  Other than that nice craftsmanship for sure! Looks like a nice transition from back of bow to fade. That grain will really pop when you put a finish on. Looking forward to seeing the surprise backing on it! Im sure it will look good if its anything else like your other work.

Thanks sleek, I'm concerned about the side load myself. But the thing is, that's the top nock and I always make it "fancier" than the bottom one. I will post pictures of it when I get it done.
Yeah I'm getting anxious to see my design that's in my mind come out! Patrick

Ive been making similar nocks for more than 2o years,, nothing but positive results,,, take an old bow tip,,, similar,, put it in a vise and try to break it pulling with a string,,,,, you will see it is stronger than it looks,,

Thanks Brad, I have made several Tips pretty small. And they were plenty strong. I done a little test with that one last night. I can put probably 50lbs of pressure on the tips with the string. Patrick
