Puck/Robin Goodfellow's soliquy
« on: August 11, 2014, 09:33:51 pm »
At the end of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer's Night's Dream", the character Puck, or Robin Goodfellow, comes out to address the audience.  He apologizes if the audience has been disturbed by the play and offers to make right with them:

If we shadows have offended,
 Think but this, and all is mended,
 That you have but slumber'd here
 While these visions did appear.
 And this weak and idle theme,
 No more yielding but a dream,
 Gentles, do not reprehend:
 If you pardon, we will mend:
 And, as I am an honest Puck,
 If we have unearned luck
 Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue,
 We will make amends ere long;
 Else the Puck a liar call;
 So, good night unto you all.
 Give me your hands, if we be friends,
 And Robin shall restore amends.

Good night, Robin (Goodfellow) Williams

What a shame.  Sometimes the most talented people are also the most tormented.

He finally stepped over that line. He was so close for so many years but held his own and entertained us with that incredible mind of his. I started enjoying Robin Williams as Mork from Ork...first run! He will be missed but not soon forgotten.  :(  :'(

      My freshman year in High School Dead Poet's Society was filmed in my home state of Delaware, yes, DELAWHERE? My high school's band and football team were used as extras. One senior football player was also even cast as one of the students in the classroom! In short, it was a BIG DEAL!

I'm a big fan, and who isn't, but I'm shocked by his apparent suicide. Well, half shocked, anyway. Often people of his rare genius are silently tormented in a way we can never know. I'd like to share a great podcast from 2010 with Robin Williams. Probably not for the wholesome, religious crowd...but, it's great insight into the true man:

Enjoy!

Might be something fishy, like M.Jackson and so many entertainers
in their autum years. Williams doesn't fit the bill for self ending imo.

Might be ,but I read he hung his self,that would be hard to do to somebody with out someone finding out. To bad,can't imagine someone doing that but guess you would have to walk in their shoes.  :-\

Some of my earliest memories are watching Mork and Mindy reruns with my mother. I also remember the first dirty words I ever heard came out of Robin Williams mouth.
