The guessing game

Its time to play the guessing game!  Lets guess where my almost-bow popped a splinter tonight!


This is my first post on PA so please forgive me if i dont know the culture.  The bow is a Hickory backed white oak pyramid.  64 ttt, slightly flipped tips, slightly reflexed upon glue up(was still holding good reflex up to pop).  This is the last pic i took about 15 minute before the pop...was sitting at 57@26"...I took about 15 strokes out of each fade and bow popped on the 4th of 5th pull to 28"....bummer.  I imagine yall will probably all guess correctly.  This is my 7th bow.  I will update tomorrow with splinter...I hope to lord I can still save this bow as the splinter isnt TERRIBLE.

Man yall are GOOD.  Splinter is 8" from the fade on the right limb.  Sorry, no prize :(.  Here is the splinter:




Do yall think I could save her?...Glue down splinter and maybe silk or paper or cloth back the hickory backing lol?
And then finally, is this just a case of not enough bend out of the fades?  My gizmo was actually telling me the rest of the limb was pretty close to even.

You have to round the edges of the backing more. Especially when there is a slight grain run-out.

Is that white oak on the belly?  All the white oak I have is a darker brown colour - Maybe I don't have white oak - although I did get it from a lumberyard from the white oak section.
