osage redux tease/ new pic

this was the first osage bow I built, I got the stave from gstonegerg and originally it was a basic flat bow with the tips just flipped a tad, when I built it it was about 65# at my draw, pulled it out the other day and it was heavy, put it on the scale and 75#, no wonder I couldn't hit anything, anyway I went to work on her and here it is so far
still have to put some finish to her and such i'll get a full draw when she's all gussied up

got her down to about 50# maybe 47# 64"ttt

don I built her in 2011 and shot and hunted with it hardfor a few years then shot off and on,

Bubby, just FYI, same thing with one of mine recently.  As I exercised it though it began to lose some of the extra weight.  I never touched the tiller on it in any way.  It started out nearly 30lbs over where it was.  Ended up 11lbs heavy.  Not the scale.  You can feel the difference now.

I just notice that the recurves aren't static..... looks like the full draw that they are working.  or is the brewsky's getting to me tonight?   ??? :-\

Slimbob I shot it for a    while and exercised it a ton with no drop in weight, so then I got it in my head for a redo, bub

Can't be that....There is no such thing as "seasoning" wood.

Looks like a nice one Bub. I have a few old osage bows made about 12 -14 years ago that I ought to put on the scale again and see what's up. Haven't shot them in several years but they were seasoned over sixty five years as fence post before I got ahold of em' and made the bows. That one of yours has a nice bend to it, I'll be looking to see it again after the rework. I'm betting the bend will be good and it will shoot just as good even with the weight reduction.
Finish your work on her old timer and lets have a looksie. >:D
