Flint knife
« on: February 17, 2014, 11:26:26 am »
This is my third knife. It was from a large flake/spall from the outside of the stone. Some of the cortex is visible on one side.  I really just threw it all together. I have 3 hrs in the whole knife( that probably shows). I had to stain the antler because it was sun bleached.  It is hafted and epoxied. I put carbon in the epoxy to make it look like pine pitch.  But that didn't work out that well, it gust got everywhere.

Thanks everybody. I was surprised that I got a blade out for the spall. I'm going to try to clean up the black stuff.

Thanks Ink, we will talk brother.

Tower, this came from a big nodule that you gave me. The ones with all the cortex found on the road. This was from a small spall.  Thanks again for reaching out that time.  8)
