Old BL bow fix
« on: February 04, 2014, 02:53:30 pm »
https://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,3179.0.html

I made this about 5-6 years ago.  BL selfbow.  My favorite bow.  last year I heard a little creaking sound and found a fracture about to let loose on a tiny little pin knot on the back.  I superglued a thin sliver of hickory over it, sanded it down and served with silk thread and its as good as new.  I'll put up a pic of the repair area.

First post in ..2 years?  Feeling frisky

Hey Dave. How have you been. I was thinking about you last night wondering how you might be. Hope you can hang around and play.

That looks like osage

I often think to myself, "That osage looks an awful lot like black locust." They're both great looking wood in very similar ways at first glace, but one glows under certain lights and the other turns things yellow ;)

Black locust. Black locust everywhere.
Mollegabets all day long.
Might as well make them short, save some wood to keep warm.
