Bow Backing?
« on: January 30, 2014, 10:43:05 pm »
I have a bow that is ready for tillering on the tree but I was thinking of maybe putting some backing on it just to be on the safe side considering this will be the first bow that looks to stand a chance at life from me. Do I need to put the backing on before or after tillering? Thanks guys.

Before.

Is it a stave or a board? What does the grain look like?

back it before tillering you don't want to get in the middle of tillering and it explode.
