Daisy's Bow
« on: January 21, 2014, 04:35:53 pm »

My oldest granddaughter Daisy asked me to make her a new bow, and you can't say no to that can you ;), here she is hickory longboardhawk style molly bow 60" ntn and about 30# @ 24"steamed some short statics in her and longhorn tip overlays, I took the levers down to almostan oval cross section and did some blue dye work and a blue grip, and yes she is a fellow southpaw ;D,  real smooth draw with early weight and a smooth shooter, the dye job wasn't what I wanted but I could only get one color, hope you like it, bub

She is one of those weird-o leftys to bub? Poor girl.....she'll never get a chance to think right!:)

Sweet bow, love the bends. And the braced profile spells it all out.

thank's Chris, the unbraced pic is after shooting for an hour or so, I was going to heat treat the belly but at that weight it doesn't really need it and here's the money shot, i'll have to get better pics of the tips, bub

Good for you!

Awesome design; she'll get hours and hours of enjoyment out of that.

Beautiful work!  May not have dyed like you wanted, but it looks real good and she's blessed to have a good grandpa!

Nice bow, great choice of color for the leather.

Really cool bow Bub and that color is actually a nice shade of blue for a girls bow. Looks to be a smooth drawing and shooting stick as well. She'll like that bow I bet, post a pic. of her and her big grin when she gets it from Grandpa.
