I have some videos on gathering river cane... PM if you're interested.  Good luck!
Florida to Kwajalein to Turkey and back in Florida again.  Good to be home but man was that an adventure!

You should find plenty of cane around there.  I hunt not too far from that area myself, Washington Co., just north of Mobile.  Be sure to gather only mature cane.  The immature cane usually appears sort of sheathed with leaves and is floppier and won't make good arrows.  I measure with a 3/8" open ended wrench on the fat end and cut mine 36" long.  Bundle them up in bundles of twelve or so and prestraighten them a little by hand before you tape your bundles together.  Good luck with the hog hunting and take your map and compass or someone who knows the delta.  You can get lost as Hogan's goat down there! :)

Well with ya alls help I did get into the cane while trying to pop a few wood ducks.
I had to keep up with the boat captain so I only collected 6-8 shafts.
I will get a photo up tomorrow. We saw no hogs but we had a warm safe day.
Thanks you all, Zuma :)
