Bowyers are hard to fool when shown a picture. That one looks OK to me. Ebay used to have a lot of really bad wood for sale but things have gotten better.
One thing I do notice a lot of is the poor quality of bow reproductions in a certain Native American "style". The sellers are hoping for an uneducated buyer to come along and take the bait...
I have for sale this wonderful, handmade, a hand painted Apache Style bow and 4 arrows. It has a 43 lb. draw at 19 in. From tip to tip it is only 39 in. Ideal for hunting in thick brush/woods. Arrows are 19 in. in length, not including the tips. The bow stave is made from maple, backed with elk sinew to reinforce and protect the wood from cracking when drawing the bow. The string is 3 ply nylon, with servicing in the middle for a comfortable arrow knock and release. The arrows are hardwood dowels, and have a steel heads filed out of a kitchen knife. Bird feathers for fletching.
