Simple osage bow
« on: December 28, 2013, 10:36:53 am »
Finally got around to snapping pics, this one was done a few weeks back. Its 66" ntn, 44.5" @ 28". It holds a bit of reflex, maybe a 1/2". I did a REAL bone headed move on this bow. I left it braced from 7 pm until 6 am. Guess you could say its shot in now. It didn't do anything noticeable to the bow, however. I shot it several hundred times before I left it braced and it still shoots the same to my hands. The handle and tips are osage as well as the bow, just much older. The bow came from wood cut this spring. Other than that, its a pretty "vanilla" bow. Thanks for looking. Comments are always welcome. Just be nice.

Great lookin bow and beautiful full draw! Thanks for not covering up the handle, I like the look of a wood handle without the leather.

That looks great.  I've been patiently waiting for you to post this one.  I like how the wood looks so much darker at the grip and tips.  Cool bow :)

Nothing wrong with that one Pearlie. I believe in sweating a bow but 11 hours is a little excessive. At least now you know it can take it.  ;D

Nice clean bow. I wouldn't worry about bracing it overnight. When I hunt in the mountains my bows are braced all day with no ill effects.

The bow looks great.  Those are some narrow tips.
