Tri Lam ERC
« on: December 27, 2013, 06:38:08 pm »
It has been awhile since I posted a bow, doesn't mean I haven't been making them.  I finished this bow up a few days ago, not my usual style but I built it as the basis of an article for PA.  It is essentially a board bow, even though some of the "boards" were made by me.  I was quite impressed at the way this bow turned out and after shooting it I am even more impressed.  It is fast, for a straight limb bow, and shoots quite well.  It has a ERC belly, BC core and Maple backing.  I glued the bow up with about 2 1/2" of reflex and it maintains a bit over 1" after shooting it some.  The bow is an ALB 68" long with 1 1/8" wide shallow D section limbs that taper to 3/8" nocks.  The bow pulls 55# @ 28".  Occasionally I like to shoot left handed and the number of left hand bows at my disposal are very few so I made this bow as a left hand bow, which now make 2.  Here are some pictures

Hi Marc,

Very classy bow...looks like quite a shooter!  (BTW: Cold down here this year!)

Maybe not perfect, but as close as one can get in my book. Nice!

ERC sure does seem to have a soft spot in her heart for you. I always love those nocks too. Very nice. I bet it smells as good as it looks,  :).

Now that's a bow that beckons "shoot me,and don't set me down" ....love the smootheness, cast, and sweet release of ERC....I couldn't put the one I just made down earlier today shooting it...nothing like a good ole ALB..hard to beat IMO....I glued up a white oak backed ERC blank a few weeks ago and need to finish it up...this might've  released the lack of motivation I've had the last couple weeks to finish a bow ;)
