i dont see the need for it either and all your doing is lifting a lever, no skill is really needed.

I got one similar cuz of my tendenitus..but i havent even tried it yet, lol.. I have been playin with Jackcrafty's method of holdin my Ishi stick under my knee and whackin it, lol

I was practicing that earlier. Broke my point when the stick came back up after i hit it. I think i just stayed with the indirect too long, shouldve switched to pressure flaking.

I have one ,And it's not as easy to use as people think.Pressure flaking big pre form's .Ive broken many piece's doing this .It's an art .It's good for long blade's .

     Cool!  I don't think of it as cheating.  I think of it as achieving a goal.  I want an arrow head, or knife blade, I would use it.  I have not yet been able to get a nice knife blade.  I have improved to the point that I can percussion a blade pretty much to the dimensions I want, but can't get the long traveling flakes.  They are longer than I used to be able to do, but not the length I want.  As it is with other things......
But I think it is a pretty cool idea, and no different from using the fluting jig.  I just might have to make one.  He doesn't say much on making it.  I would assume that the board with the eye hook is attached from the bottom with a nut and bolt or two, in a slot, so it can be moved closer, or farther back.   Anyway, pretty cool.  Thanks for sharing.
