Marcia's turkey
« on: November 15, 2013, 01:41:56 am »
One of my wife Marcia's art patrons wanted her to make a paper mache' turkey for her to give to her husband. This patron has quite a few pieces of Marcia's paper mache' and lover the wimsey and sense of humor or realism in Marcia's work.
After a few weeks of bending and forming chicken wire and adding news paper and tissue with white glue I think she has captured the spirit of an active tom.

Today she added the first of the paint. This base coat shows her where she need to add more here or there. She will add layers of color and more details of paper mache' like the spirs and head details. Here is tom with his base coat of paint.

That's pretty cool.  Hey Pat, if you don't get a buck this season you could have her make one for you.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Really nice! Since she's making it from bottom up , stick some big ol' limb hanger spurs on it. :)
