Florida Doe and Stone
« on: November 13, 2013, 12:35:10 pm »
More meat for the freezer! I shot this one last night and was just a tad unsure of the shot so I played it safe and let it go until morning (not many coyotes around here). Turns out I made a perfect 9 yard double lung hit and she only ran about 60 yards. The arrow passed through and hung up in the fletchings. She carried the arrow about 30 yards, knocking the point off on a brush before she dropped it. I was fortunate to find both the deer and the point early this morning! I took her with one of my Osage Bows, 56# @ 24.5", a 520gr cane arrow and 95gr Florida chert point

thanks guys

eddie-  yeah it was a little too chilly for the underwear outfit. I had planned on wearing my long skins but I was running really late and knew I had to stop at the store for the wifey on the way home...  figured modern and socially acceptable clothing was the order of the day  :-\

Congratulations!  I was looking thru squinted eyes until I realized you were not wearing your buckskin boxers.   >:D

Best of all...recovering the point!  What a cherry on top!

Very cool. I don't get on here much but when I do I enjoy looking at you guys hunting photos and stories, love to see the primitive stuff to take away from the image of smartphones and never turned off television sets. I'll be in Florida in a few weeks there Ryan, driving my subaru with my dog and my buddy for near two weeks, to orlando. can you hunt hogs on private land without a license?
