Tallahatta Quartzite Pickwick

I got a single piece of tallahatta from a friend with the challenge to make a point. I decided to go the reproduction route and looked through my artifact book and found a style I dont have in my collection yet that was made from this particular stone. It's replicated from a Pickwick atlatl point from the Gulf Coast. Worked with all antler tools of course

Great work with orthoquartzite! Any idea where that rock was found? It looks like mean material and you whipped it good!

thanks guys. yeah it seems to get a decent edge Eddie. It seems like a different type of sharp than chert/coral sharp...  kinda like someone pulverized glass and glued it all together.  I wouldn't want to catch it

 Ryan, yea, it's kinda strange. I was impressed with the sharpness, and like you said, like pulverised glass, glued to an edge.
