Measuring draw length
« on: December 08, 2007, 03:19:58 pm »
i hate asking these questions that prob have a very simple answer that i should already know, but i guess if you don't know you have to ask.

when measuring draw length suck as placing the notches on a tillering stick or a persons draw length are you measuring from the belly of the bow. the string when the bow is braced or from some other location. when i made my tillering stick i measured my notches from where the belly of the bow would sit and today i got to thinking i may have done it wrong.... :-\

thanks

I measure from the back of the bow.
Lakeland, Florida
If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

If your just using it for your draw length it doesn't really matter so long as your consistent.  However if you start doing bows for other people and they measure differently then it could be a problem.

I also measure from the back of the bow.  I have a friend who measures his from the deepest part of the throat and claims that what many archery manufacturers do.
