When do I debark?

So this morning I split my cascara into two stave's, I've glued the ends to keep them from drying out to quickly but I keep reading conflicting information about debarking. Do I leave the bark on until it's seasoned or take it off now when it'll be easier to do?
Or did I totally screw it up by splitting it before it's seasoned?
I also have some maple that I haven't split yet and I was wondering about it as well.

Take off the bark now, it'll be a real pain later. Seal the backs if you're gonna leave em in halves, if you're gonna work them down immediately there's no need to seal backs

I like to spread my bets
Leave one with bark and strip the other then rough out.
I have had various problems with all the usual methods, usually down to our local RH being up and down like no-body's business.

Since the bark as to come off anyhow take it off and seal the whole stave.
Any wood splits easyer when seasoned.

Really? This has not been my experience. I find splitting out staves to be much easier when the logs are fresh.
