Ready for opening day
« on: September 27, 2013, 02:18:30 pm »
Opening day of deer season is only 4 days away and I can't wait.  I am more prepared this year than ever before.  I have not been able to kill a deer with a self bow yet.  I hope this is the year I get it done.  I've been shooting my bow almost every day that I am not working.  I am pleased with my accuracy.  I will be using stone points from Tracy and Bubby.  All of the stands are hung and shooting lanes cleared.  Paths are mowed and raked.  Now if only the deer will cooperate.  I ordered a safety harness yesterday.  I hope it gets here before opening day.  I've been a little shaky in a tree ever since my fall.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way, from trading supplies and equipment, helping me become a better bow builder, giving me shooting advice at gatherings, and so much more.  I have appreciated all of it.  If I am successful, it will be because of the PA community.

Good luck to everyone this season and be safe out there.

Clint

Starts today in texas, been trying to find a hunting partner to hunt public land in somerville for a couple months,, not many bow guys around here it seems,, the thought of packing out a deer by my lonesome ,, well not thinking that would be pleasant in this texas heat.   :-X

Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Same to you.  If its slow you will be getting some texts before any strings drop.  If you get a call and all you hear is heavy breathing and mumbling, you will know I killed something.

That's only fair because there is a great deal of this community that is more successful because of you, as well.  You are a heck of a guy, Clint.  Good luck out there.  And as always....post pics!

I'll echo JW!
Good luck to you Clint!
I had my good luck hunting with a bow made from the "Monster Osage" tree.
Now it's your turn Clint!

I spent 4 hours in the stand today and saw some turkeys, squirrels, and tons of chipmunks.  It was nice to be in the woods finally.

Rhansen:  I'm hunting in Indiana and using the osage bow I finished up around a month ago.
