Blackhawk Inspired Molley (many pics)

While I was researching Mollys I ran into a lot of Blackhawks bows and one in particular that I liked was the "Three Eyed Molly".  I had a piece of osage that had a bad knot right in the middle of the stave. It had fairly straight grain, and I knew it could be a Molly. About half way through it I dug out the knot which went all the way through. 
I think I'm going to call it "Cyclops Molly". the bow is 64" ntn, 55# @ 28", 55/45 ratio, with the bending limb being just under 2" wide and 5/16" at the tips.  The tip are cow horn over walnut, with turkey breast feathers on the back.  I'm not quite finished yet and still shooting it in, got about 150 shots through it, it did take a little set though. Can't decide weather or not to add a leather grip, might just leave it as is.
Thanks Chris for the inspiration......I still don't have the courage to thin those tips like you, but I may try a little more on the next one. and there will definitely be another Molly I really like them!

I'm glad you finally posted that bow.  I've seen it in person and it is a great looking and shooting bow.  The feathers change colors as you move it.  And the finish work on it is superb.

Nice! The feather backing is  awesome. I want to get a turkey this fall and do that to one. A wampanog paddle bow would look good done with feathers.

Echatham,  I use a material I have use on custom fishing rods in the past is called FlexCoat, a two part self leveling epoxy, only doing a few inches at a time, once both limbs are dry with the first coat, I apply a finish coat of the same material.  The trick is to use a very soft hair brush and do not brush the feather much.  If you break the feather brushing it into the finish it will not go back together and the osage will show through.

Slimbob,  Fat fingers  ,  but the lever at the fade is 3/4" x 3/4" tapers in width to 5/16 @ the tips and stays pretty much 3/4" in thickness to the tip.

Capt, I thought about it way too long dive right in, I should have, because I probably would have had three or four under my belt by now.  I love them.

Twisted, ya a Sudbury/Wampanog would look good, wasn't that the bow the pilgrims saw when they landed,  Maybe a Thanksgiving bow?
