Second presentation Hawk (KHalverson spike head)
« on: August 27, 2013, 05:06:54 pm »
Hey fellas, here is the second hawk I'm making for the Odawa. Needs final finish and a couple of bells and whistles.....but this is basically it. Kevin, hope ya like what I did to that beautiful head you donated. The handle is carved from red elm and it's 23" overall. The eye of the head is straight walled so made it a really tight fit, then cut a kerf and pounded in a wedge made from white-tail deer leg bone, it aint goin anywhere now.

Great team work. Looks to me like it's already got the bells and whistles.

Keep em coming.

I'd give my eye teeth for a head like that one. Rich you done that one justice buddy and my hat's off to Mr.Halverson's craftsmanship! Carrying that into the woods with my bow would be really romantic. Really nice guys...
