Draw weight

What is the minimum weight for a hunting longbow in your area. Here its 40# @ archers draw lenght.
Cross bow is 120#

35lbs in Alabama is the minimum legal draw weight.  I don't know about crossbows....

Next door in Nevada,

It has to be able to send a minimum arrow weight of 400 grns, 150 yards over level ground.

40# at your draw length minimum for bow, and 150# minimum for Xbow here in Saskatchewan, Canada.

bow101 it simply means whatever your draw length is, it needs to have 40# behind it. Regardless of what the bow itself is marked. If you take a 40 @ 28 bow out and you draw 25", your illegal.

Washington State is  40# @ 28"
the only cross bow use is for disabled hunters, with state disabled card & with a cross bow endorsement.  The endorsement means the state says you can't pull a bow back, however you can't use electronics to help you pull the 150# needed on the cross bow, go figure. Ed

I am unaware of a specific draw weight in Virginia but your bow must be able to shoot a broad-head equipped arrow a minimum of 125 yards.
