Osage String Lineup

When you draw your bow the pushing pressure is on the crotch between your index finger and thumb.
Where should the string line up??       A    or B ??

A  is the pushing of the crotch.

B is the center of handle

I would think B. The string is crossing center line of the bow, and with the character of the bow looks like that  would make it  real close to center shot. Just my 2 cents. A challenging stave regardless good luck.

B is only about 3/8" off center of the top of the handle



The string is just simulated to show where it could be..
Right now the bow has to be heat bent to line up to   A  or B

Its on the caul right now.  I'm trying to get my string alignment fined tuned as well.  I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.  Yours is kinked in the center of the handle, mine the whole handle is at an angle, but they do look similar.

At the same time though, if you were to look at it from a left hand shooters perspective, B might cause some real spine problems. I would still put it in the center with B though probably, it's just the only way I really know to do it, maybe a mix between A and B maybe, just because that curve makes judging the actual center kinda crazy.

B for sure.  I'm a lefty as well.  When I work a stave if its a bow I plan on keeping and shooting then I will cheat the string from center to the right side of my bow.  That seems to lessen the arrow contact with the bow.  On the last bow I made I even cut the arrow rest into the bow handle to lessen arrow contact even more.  So far it has worked out really well.  My arrow shoots really true and very consistent.
