Great Lakes presentation tomahawk
« on: July 23, 2013, 10:17:04 am »
Been working on a couple of presentation sets for some First Nation Cultural Centers and Elders. This is a prototype tomahawk that just got some very good feed-back from the Odawa Elders, so thought I'd share it. Hope you like it.

Overall length is 22", has a hand forged head by Wildman, the shaft is red elm treated with spruce pitch and rendered deer fat (from Don), the underwater panther effigy is carved from buffalo shoulder blade bone, the decorations are deer hide thongs, carved bone hair pipes followed by brass cones.

Thank you fellas for the nice comments. Getting it right for the Elders is real important to me, so maybe after all these years I might just have a handle on these items. Thanks again.

Nice job Rich! It's a real work of art!!
