"Ol' Knobby" Ocean Spray Bow
« on: July 02, 2013, 06:03:02 pm »
Meet Old Knobby! This is my second bow, made at the Stick and Sage shoot this year with gracious and patient mentoring by most everyone around, including Gordon, Kennan, Monsieur Cheney (sp?), Weylin and I think Carson drank a few beers in the background, spouting out words of genuine encouragement as well. Thanks to all that helped out!

The specs are 58" nTn, pulling 34# @ 26". Ocean Spray with stacked leather build-up handle. No shots of her unstrung, but I will say she stays well straight when let out. Quick little bow too! I find myself grabbing it when squirrels come around our tipi for a mid-day snack, but am yet to make a snack out of them. Soon, squirrel....soon.

My wife is pictured at full draw and she is bummed that I didn't inform her of her tag hanging out of her dress. So, on her behalf, I sincerely apologize for such erroneous offenses against humanity. Ha!

Nice bend on that bow, for sure!!

Nice bow!  I wouldn't have noticed the tag if you hadn't of said something.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

I wasn't sure at first that stave would make a bow, but it sure turned out nicely.

Nice bend on that one, looks like a smooth shooter and from the drawn pic it looks to be a perfect fit for your wife.
I love those style of bows.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

I did more than spout encouragement while drinking!  ...I also gave you that stave, brotha ...must have been drinking then too ;D

Lauren saw that pic and said, "look Michael made a bow for Angela"  (I havent made one for her yet).  I told her he was making it for himself, it just came in underweight  ;)

Love what you did with that stave  8)
